Chrysalis Fabrics is run by Diana, a professional dressmaker and tailor with over forty years of experience creating garments of every kind.
Established as a mail-order fabric business more than 25 years ago, Chrysalis Fabrics has been owned by Diana since 2007 and is built on a simple belief: the best way to choose fabric is to touch and feel it.
Through our subscription-based service, subscribers can experience carefully curated fabric collections featuring wools, cottons, silks, linens, man-made fibres, and versatile blends suited to both day-wear and special occasion projects.
Sourced mainly from Europe and selected in small quantities for quality rather than volume, each collection reflects our commitment to reliability, value, and craftsmanship.

HOW DOES THE SERVICE WORK?
Each quarter (Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter), our subscribers receive an envelope containing between 55 and 60 fabric samples, along with a printed catalogue detailing each fabric’s fibre content, width, care instructions, and suggested uses. Each sample measures approximately 5cm square and is organised into four swatches of around 15 samples per swatch. For additional guidance or assistance, contact us at any time.
ORDERING AND DELIVERY INFORMATION
Each Fabric Collection is sent with a printed order form.
Subscribers can, either,

Deliveries are made via standard Royal Mail Letter or Parcel Force Service, depending on order weight. Delivery charges are based on order value, with free delivery on orders over £250. Payment is accepted by debit or credit card, bank transfer or cheque.

SIMPLE, GREAT-VALUE FABRIC SAMPLE SUBSCRIPTION
An annual Chrysalis Fabrics subscription costs just £22 — less than one penny per fabric sample. Join at any time, and you won’t miss out; if a new collection has already been dispatched, we’ll send you the most recent Fabric Collection unless a new one is due within the next couple of weeks. THE CHRYSALIS FABRICS COLLECTION BROWSER
Our online Collection Browser is an additional service for visitors to this website. Although its primary purpose is to allow subscribers to get the 'bigger picture' of the actual fabric samples they receive, it is also very handy for visitors to browse past Collections. If you find a fabric from one of our past Collections, then, as a subscriber, you can request a sample of it (subject, of course, to availability) at no additional cost. Non-subscribers can request samples, too, but they are charged individually.
I've used this service for many years, and I'm always delighted with the fabrics and the helpful service from Diana. The samples are a treat to receive and are so beautifully presented with everything you need to know about each sample. The photos on the website really help with perspective for printed fabrics, and it's a great way to buy fabric. Restraining yourself from buying too many of them is the hard part, as they are all so tempting. Cheaper suppliers are out the, but the quality seldom matches chosen for the Chrysalis collections. When we spend so much time making a bespoke garment, it's just not sensible to buy cheap fabric and hinder what could be a great result. I can't recommend them highly enough.
